Hurricane Melissa has left profound emotional, economic, and structural damage across Jamaica, displacing families and leaving many single mothers without a place to call home. As a Foundation committed to uplifting women at risk, we cannot be silent or still.
The Woman Ignite Foundation is proud to launch the “Brick by Brick” Rebuild Initiative, a national effort to restore homes for at least five single mothers across the five hardest-hit parishes. This is more than disaster relief— it is restoration, dignity, and nation-building, one woman, one family, one household at a time.
We invite partners, supporters, and compassionate individuals to join us. Your contribution—whether financial or in-kind—will help rebuild lives from the ground up.

The mission of the Foundation is to hand-hold, support and groom a total of 25 young women each year; more specifically, women who have experienced trauma, incarceration, abuse, teenage pregnancy or human trafficking.
The WAR Initiative is a programme that focuses on helping women at risk hone their gifts and talents, and empower them to have success in the meaningful areas of their lives. WAR was birthed as a legacy project of the Woman Ignite Success Summit (WISS) and is the pilot project of the Woman Ignite Foundation. For the first year, the Initiative will support a total of 18 women across Jamaica.
The programme will provide specialized support for a cohort of women, who are deemed most at risk. Support will come in the form of:
The WAR programme officially launched on July 8, 2022, and so far six (6) women have received computer training. The full programme is currently being fine-tuned and the various partner contributions are being secured to support the special group of women during the pilot phase.
The WAR initiative will take a two-pronged approach to supporting and mentoring the cohort:
Based on the 18 WAR participants approved for the first cohort, the main programme will address the following areas; the needs may differ for each instalment and will be reviewed based on the Needs Assessment conducted each year:
Phase 1: Personal Empowerment and Success
Phase 2: Workforce Training
Phase 3: Social Engagement skills
Phase 4: Application & Delivery (Internship/work experience)
Phase 5: Close-Out Ceremony; at the end of a 12-months period, beneficiaries will graduate from the programme and allow a new cohort to be installed. A final progress report will be issued for each participant.
Presently, the programme is being partially funded through the proceeds gained from hosting the Woman Ignite Success Summit. Corporate and International partners are also being targeted to provide support in cash or kind.
